Navigating with Resource Links

Resource links connect every related entity in Validio with consistent, clickable icon-and-name links for fast navigation.

A resource link is a consistent, clickable reference to a related entity in Validio, shown as an icon and the entity's name. Wherever one resource refers to another — a source's credential, a validator's window, an asset's upstream dependency — Validio renders that reference as a resource link so you can jump straight to its details in a single click, without searching for it by name.

Resource links turn Validio into a connected graph you can traverse by clicking. Instead of remembering a name, switching pages, and searching, you follow the link from wherever you are to wherever you need to be.

What Renders as a Resource Link

Related entities across the platform appear as resource links, each with a distinct icon so you can recognize the entity type at a glance:

  • Data resources — sources, credentials, and catalog assets.
  • Validation resources — validators, windows, filters, and segmentations.
  • Cataloging and contextdomains, glossary terms, classifications, and schema fields.
  • Delivery and access — integrations, notification channels, users, and API keys.

Where Resource Links Appear

The same link components are used consistently throughout the product, so a source always looks and behaves like a source wherever it appears:

  • List pages — resource columns (such as a validator's source or an asset's glossary terms) link directly to the referenced entity.
  • Detail-page sidebars — the information panel on a source, validator, asset, or other resource links out to every related entity.
  • The Lineage graph — nodes and connection details link to the underlying sources and catalog assets.
  • The activity log — each entry links to the resource it describes and to the actor who performed the action.

Why It Matters

Resource links keep you in flow while you investigate. When you are triaging an incident, you can move from the incident to its validator, to the validator's source, to the source's upstream lineage — following links the whole way, and never losing your place. Combined with saved views and deep links, they make Validio fast to navigate on your own and easy to share with your team.
