Discover and organize all your data assets in one place with Validio Data Catalog, including utilization and quality insights.

Validio Data Catalog discovers and organizes all of your data assets and sources into one place and includes information such as utilization and quality to help you identify the assets that are important. With this information, you can decide which assets to convert to sources and where to set up more validators to monitor the issues that impact your business.

Data Catalog automatically discovers assets based on all the Credentials you have added to Validio. When configuring the credential, you need to enable the Use for Catalog option to display the discovered assets in Catalog and Lineage. However, assets larger than 15MB will be skipped and not added to Catalog and Lineage.

The Catalog section includes the following pages:

  • Assets–Browse and manage your discovered catalog assets (tables, streams, BI tools, and dbt). Asset lists include glossary terms, tags, reads, writes, and other metadata. For more information, see Catalog Assets.
  • Glossary–Define and manage business terms that provide consistent data definitions across your organization. Assign terms to assets and fields, import/export via CSV, and propagate terms through lineage. For more information, see Business Glossary.
  • Domains–Create organizational categories for grouping glossary terms and assets by business area. For more information, see Domains.
