About Integrations
Integrations allow you to connect Validio to your tools and data sources and provides end-to-end monitoring, automated analysis and validation, and incident notifications. For example, you can connect Validio to a data warehouse source, add validators to track the health of the tables and pipelines, and configure a notification channel integration to send alerts directly to your teams.
Steps to Integrate
General steps to integrate with Validio are:
- In the tool you want to integrate, create a service account specifically for Validio. This service account should have the appropriate role and permissions to access the data that you want to monitor in Validio.
- Create a Validio credential to connect to the service account. If the credential is valid, Validio will automatically discover assets from the connected source. You can enable the option to view these assets in catalog and lineage, however Validio is not actively tracking the data from these connections until you convert assets to sources.
- Create the source integration in Validio that uses the credential. After you start the source, Validio will automatically pull the data such as metadata, query logs, and metrics, depending on the type of source.
- Add validators to the source to track specific metrics, such as health and pipeline volume. You can configure notification rules for incidents detected by the validators.
- (Optional) Add notification channel integrations to send alerts directly to the communication tools where your teams work.
