Updating Threshold Settings

Update threshold settings on individual validators in Validio, with before-and-after comparison and incident impact review.

You can update the settings for the configured threshold type on individual validators. To access this option, navigate to the validator's details page, open the Metric tab, and click Update threshold. This option is not available on the Overview tab.

Update thresholds dialog

The Update threshold dialog lets you:

  • Adjust the threshold settings for the configured threshold type. You cannot change the threshold type itself — for more information, see About Thresholds.
  • Change the time range and segment shown in the preview. Threshold updates apply to all segments.
  • Compare before (Current threshold) and after (Updated threshold) graphs side by side. For example, this makes it easier to compare two different sensitivity values for dynamic thresholds.
  • Review a summary of incidents generated over time, to help you understand how frequently you would be alerted with the updated threshold.

Update Threshold Options

When you are ready to apply your changes, you have three options:

  • Update Threshold: Applies the updated threshold settings to future data only. Existing metrics and incidents are not affected.
  • Duplicate Validator: Creates a copy of the current validator with the updated threshold settings and applies the new threshold to historical data. The original validator remains unchanged.
  • Replace Threshold: Updates the threshold and resets the validator. All existing metrics, incidents, and artifacts will be cleared. For more information, see Resetting a Validator.
