Source errors in Validio indicate issues such as polling failures, schema changes, missing fields, and segmentation limit violations on your monitored sources.

Valido displays errors when there are issues related to your sources. Errors can be failures during polling of configured sources, missing or invalid fields when a schema has been updated, exceeding the segmentation limit, and more.

Reviewing errors

You can review errors on the global Errors page and view errors directly in the context of the affected resources as badges or messages.

The global Errors page provides an overview of errors for all of your sources. You can sort the list of errors on the Date column, ascending or descending.
On the global Sources page, you can quickly see if there are errors on individual sources by scanning the list. Sources with errors will have a red badge next to them. Most errors will have a tooltip to provide more context and a possible action to resolve the error.

On a source’s details page, you will see red badges on the relevant tabs if there are errors on the validators, windows, segmentation, or filters configured on the source. When you click into the tabs, you can quickly see where the errors are by scanning the list of validators, windows, segmentations, or filters.

Types of errors

The following table lists the different types of errors in Validio:

Error Type	Description
Polling errors	A general source error related to communication between Validio and the data source. When polling for new data, issues can include failures to run a query, process metrics, compute window range, and more. Polling errors are displayed in the Source or Validators list under the ‘Latest poll’ column.
Schema change errors	An error related to a change in the schema of a source. You can review all errors related to schema changes on the Source’s Schema tab.
Schema field errors	An error related to missing field or a field with an invalid datatype. Schema field changes will be reported on all affected resources. For example, when you change the datatype of a field to an invalid type, you will see the error on any window or filter that uses the field.
Segment limit exceeded errors	An error reported when the segmentation has exceeded the allowed number of segments. The segment usage limit is set when Configuring Segmentation.
