You can use the Validio developer tools to automate functionality or interact with the Validio platform without using the web interface. Data providers who typically work with command-line interfaces and data consumers who use the web interface can then collaborate on the same resources. Installing the CLI also installs the SDK. To install them and create your first API key, see Getting started.

Validio API

The Validio API is built using GraphQL and enables interaction with the Validio platform through any GraphQL client, instead of the web interface. Alongside it, the read-only CSV Export API returns Validio data as CSV for reporting and BI tools. For more information, see About Validio API.

Validio SDK

The Validio Software Development Kit (SDK) provides functionality to interact with the Validio API through a GraphQL client. The SDK is written in Python, and all its public functions are documented according to pydoc using Sphinx. For more information, see Validio SDK.

Validio CLI

You can use the Validio Command-Line Interface (CLI) to interact with the Validio platform through the SDK and API. The CLI is a wrapper around the Validio SDK that includes some added functionality. For more information and examples, see Validio CLI.

Validio Code (IaC)

Validio Code provides Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), which uses Python to provide the full expressive power of an imperative programming language. For more information and examples, see Validio Code (IaC). You can also find practical code examples in Validator recipes and the Validio SDK recipes.
