Attempt to create an SSL connection, otherwise fall back to a non-SSL connection upon failure.

REQUIRE

Only attempt to create an SSL connection, without verifying the server certificate.

Only attempt to create an SSL connection and verify that the server certificate is issued by a trusted certificate authority.

VERIFY_FULL
