# About Validio Code

> Validio Code provides Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Python to model and manage data quality resources in a repeatable, version-controlled manner similar to Terraform.

Validio Code provides Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), which lets you model and manage resources within your environment in an efficient and repeatable manner. It is similar to other IaC tools, such as [Terraform](https://www.terraform.io/), [Pulumi](https://www.pulumi.com/), and [AWS CloudFormation](https://aws.amazon.com/cloudformation/).

Validio Code uses Python to provide the full expressive power of an imperative programming language, combined with the safety of declaratively managing your infrastructure. This fits Validio Code into existing development or CI/CD workflows.

## Prerequisites

Validio Code runs through the `validio code` command of the [Validio CLI](https://docs.validio.io/v11.1/developer/validio-cli.md), and its resource classes come from the [Validio SDK](https://docs.validio.io/v11.1/developer/validio-sdk.md). Before you can use Validio Code, you must install and configure the CLI and SDK. See [Getting Started with Validio Developer Tools](https://docs.validio.io/v11.1/developer/getting-started.md).
