# Credential

> Credentials store the authorizations for the user or service accounts used to integrate Validio
with data sources. When connecting Validio to an integration, such as a data source or a
notification channel, the credential authenticates the connection. More information about
channels can be found [here](https://docs.validio.io/docs/credentials).
