# lineageEdges

> Page through every lineage edge in the catalog. An asset edge and a field
edge are separate elements, each with its own id.
Pages follow a stable order, so a full walk sees once each edge that exists
for the whole walk. For an incremental sync, note when a walk starts and
pass that time as `updatedSince` on the next walk.
`updatedSince` cannot report a deleted edge, and it can miss a changed one.
dbt and OpenLineage imports replace their edges wholesale. An incremental
sync needs a periodic full walk.
`pageInfo.totalCount` is an estimate, and it can include edges the query
leaves out. A walk is complete when `hasNextPage` is false.
Requires LINEAGE_READ permissions.
